International Year of Chemistry 2011
EuCheMS invites member societies and its Divisions/Working Parties to take part in the International Year of Chemistry and contribute to this excellent opportunity for chemistry. Now is the time to get involved, share ideas, plan events and importantly apply for funding. The EuCheMS Task Group chaired by Igor Tkatchenko, Societé Française de Chimie, is coordating the EuCheMS funding application.
IYC 2011 Objectives
- Increase the public appreciation of chemistry in meeting world needs
- Increase the interest of young people in chemistry
- Generate enthusiasm for the creative future of chemistry
- Celebrate the role of women in chemistry or major historical events in chemistry, including the centenary of Mme. Curie's Nobel Prize
